Established in 2016, the David M. Rubenstein Scholars Program is the first competitive merit scholarship at Duke that supports first-generation, low-income students financially, academically, personally and professionally. Scholars are selected for their outstanding achievements, resilience, and commitment to social engagement. Apply to Duke!
David M. Rubenstein Scholars receive more than a scholarship covering the full cost of a Duke education. Students become part of the larger Duke merit scholar community in the Office of University Scholars and Fellows and are mentored by faculty. They are provided with ongoing enrichment opportunities, including funding to pursue special research and experiential projects.
